Agra


1. Taj Mahal

2. The Mosque


Another of the top Agra tourist attractions is the Mosque. Built from red sandstone to the left of the Taj Mahal, this mosque is still used for prayers.










3. Red Fort Agra


This fort was originally built for military use and protection, but is now a masterpiece of architecture and wonder. This is one of the top places of interest in the area for visitors.










4. The Golden Pavilions


One of the unusual Agra tourist attractions is the Golden Pavilions. These pavilions were created as bedrooms for the daughters of the king, and include secret hiding spots.












5. The Taj Museum


The Taj Museum is filled with fascinating Taj Mahal facts, artifacts, and history. The museum is a popular tourist attraction that draws people from around the globe.






6. Jodha Bai’s Palace


Jodha Bai was the favored queen of Akbar, and her palace is still a popular draw in Agra today. Relatively simple, the palace is situated inside Fort Agra and contains slits so the Taj can be viewed.








7. The Jawab


The Jawab is one of the popular Agra tourist attractions, drawing numerous visitors each day. This is identical to the Mosque, only placed on the right side of the Taj Mahal. The Jawab is not used for paying because of the direction it faces, but was included for symmetry.






8. The Anguri Bagh


These gardens are a common stop with many Golden Triangle tours in India. The gardens are formal, and geometrically arranged for the most impressive presentation.








9. Fatehpur Sikri


Situated roughly fifty kilometers from Agra, the Fatehpur Sikri is a city built mainly using red sandstone. This city is a very popular choice among Agra tourist attractions.










10. Dayal Bagh Temple


This temple is a fascinating structure, more than one hundred feet tall and consisting only of white marble. The work on the temple continues to this day, and will never intentionally end. This makes it one of the most popular Agra tourist attractions.

1. Ajmer:

The city of Ajmer is located in the central Rajasthan. This place is a very popular pilgrimage for both Muslim and Hindu. The history of Ajmer is very diverse as it was ruled by many Muslim and Rajputana dynasties. As a result, this city comprises of various cultures and civilization. Taragarh Fort in Ajmer is said to be the very first hill fort of Asia.

2. Alwar 

Alwar is a beautiful town nestled between small hills of the Aravalli mountain range. It is located about 150 Km from Jaipur and approximately 170 Km from Delhi. It is a historic town with its rich cultural heritage.  City has many beautiful lakes and a very scenic landscape.

3. Bikaner

Bikaner is one of the most popular tourists destination located in northern region of Rajasthan. Bikaner was founded by Rao Bikaji, the Rathore prince. It was once very important trading route to the West Asian countries. It is popularly called as the camel country because of its world famous camel ride. Apart from the world famous camel ride, city is rich in its architectural wealth in its wonderful forts, temples and palaces. Impressive palaces and sculptured temples in red and yellow sand stones exhibit some of the excellent creations of the Rajput civilization.

4. Mount Abu

Mount Abu is a very pleasant retreat set in the midst of a lush forested hills. It is a green oasis in the middle of the deserted state of Rajasthan. It is located on the southernmost tip of the Aravali mountain range. The place is rich in flora and fauna that includes the coniferous trees.

5. Udaipur

Udaipur was once the capital city of the Rajput kingdom of Mewar which was ruled by the Sisodia clan. It is India’s one of the most romantic city. Surrounded by the Aravalli hills, the old city is dominated by the cupola-crowned City Palace located at Lake Pichola.

6. Bundi

Bundi offers some of the very striking palaces, havellis and temples which are beautifully decorated with stone idols and chattris with carved pillars.  Lakes in the middle of the town added extra beauty to its charm. Bundi is also famous for its complex wall paintings.

7. Luni

Luni is located 35 kms away from Jodhpur. This small place reflects the rural fascination of Rajasthan. It is a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. This small village is home to many craftsmen and artisans who build stunning metal, clay, and wooden carved products. Fort Chanwa in Luni is an exceptional piece of sophistication of Indian Architecture.

8. Jaipur

Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan. It is amidst the rugged hills of the Aravallis mountain range. Jaipur is the precious gemstone in the middle of desert sands. Jaipur offers some of the very amazing architecture. The city offers exclusive amalgamation of culture to experience and to be appreciated. In the month of January, Jaipur celebrates 3 day International kite festival starting from 13th or 14th.

9. Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer, which was once a quiet desert city has transformed into a major tourist destination of India. It is located in the middle of the scenic Thar Desert. It is one of the most acclaimed destinations among the tourist around the world. Jaisalmer Fort is the most acclaimed historical monuments that you ill noticed here distinctively. The fort is made up of beautiful sand stones.  The city is best known for the old mansions called as Havelis. Among several havellis the most striking ones are Salim ji ki haveli and Nathmal ji ki haveli. The blend of ancient and the medieval architecture will catch your fantasy.

10. Bharatpur

Bharatpur is very well known for its bird sanctuary.  Another very interesting place to see in Bharapur is the Lohagarh Fort which was built by the famous ruler of Bharatpur named Maharaja Suraj Mal. The Fort has 3 palaces within its boundaries.It is worth a visit.

1.Srinagar- this place is also known as the ‘City of Lakes’ and it has a very pleasant weather. This city contains the world famous Dal Lake. The other tourist spots are the Hazratbal Shrine and the Mughal Gardens.











2.Pahalgam- is one of the most beautiful valleys in the land of Jammu & Kashmir. The Pahalgam wildlife sanctuary is a major attraction of this place along with the trekking routes.











3.Gulmarg- it is one of the most appreciated tourist spots in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. The natural beauty of the place is sublime and among the sight seeing spots, the ski resort and the world's highest golf course are the most famous.









4.Nubra Valley-A magnificent valley filled with natural beauty in the lands of Jammu and Kashmir is the Nubra Valley. The name of the valley is derived from the Nubra River that flows through this splendid valley. Nubra Valley is fondly called the “Valley of Flowers” because of the numerous varieties of colorful flowers in the valley. 





5.Katra-The town of Katra is popularly known as Katra Vaishno Devi, as it is the base camp for the pilgrims visiting the sacred abode of Vaishno Devi. It is one of the Jammu and Kashmir popular tourist spots and is visited by thousands of people. The small city of Katra is situated in the foot of the Trikuta Mountains in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. On this Trikuta Mountains is situated the holy temple of Vaishno Devi. 



6.Batote-The tourist resort is situated at a distance of 125 kilometers from the city of Jammu. Batote is a tourist paradise with the Chenab gorge and the mountain ranges lying in the close proximity of the region. The resort is placed on the National Highway and is easily accessible from the major cities of Jammu and Kashmir. The buses ply on a regular basis from these cities to Batote. Buses from the cities of Doda, Kishtwar and Bhaderwah also run along the National Highway and pass by the resort. Hired taxis are also available for the tourist to commute to the resort in Batote. 

7.Mantalai-Surrounded by the lush green deodar forests, the historical town of Mantalai is situated in Jammu in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The town is placed at an altitude of 2000 meters and is of mythological importance to the followers of Hindu religion. Manatlai is one of the Jammu and Kashmir popular tourists spots and is frequently visited by the Hindu devotees and tourists. Legend has it that the powerful God, Lord Shiva was unified in marriage to the Goddess Parvati in the region of Mantalai. A number of temples abound the region. The Sudh Mahadev Temple lies close to the town of Mantalai. The ancient place of worship is said to be 2800 years old.

8.Mansar Lake-The beautiful Mansar Lake is situated at a distance of 62 kilometers from the city of Jammu and 40 kilometers from the Udhampur city. The bountiful nature abounds near the lake in plenty. The Mansar Lake is surrounded by hills that are rich in forest areas. Circumambulating the lake is believed to bring good fortune to the newly wedded couples. That is why honeymooners often visit the lake to take an auspicious stroll around it.

9.Akhnoor-The distance of the beautiful Akhnoor town from the city of Jammu is about thirty-two kilometers. It is situated to the north- west of the city. The Chenab River flows gracefully through this town and meets the plain here. This beautiful town is also of much historical importance. There are some ruins of the Indus Valley Civilization in the town of Akhnoor along the river Chenab. During the Mugal period this town used to fall in the route to Srinagar. When Jahangir died on his way to Kashmir the Mugal emperor was temporarily buried in Chingas.

10.Amar Mahal-Amar Mahal is a palace famous for its elegant structure made of red sand stone. It stands amidst a gorgeous setting in a part of Jammu. This palace is designed like a French Chateau. The Shivalik ranges can be viewed from this place and there is the river Tawi to add to the beauty and picturesqueness of the surrounding. Once upon a time the Amar Mahal of Jammu served as the residence of Raja Amar Singh. This palace has now been turned to a museum, which is maintained and taken care of by the Hari- Tara Charitable Trust. It is popularly known as the Amar Mahal Palace Museum.

1) Munnar
Among top tourist places of Kerala.  Munnar is located on Western Ghats at an altitude of 1600m and is considered to be the most radiant place in Kerala. In past, Munnar was the summer resort for British Government during their rule in south India.It is the converging point of three exotic rivers namely- Muthirappuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly. Monsoon brings joyfulness as one gets to see a lot of streams and rivulets. This adds to the charm of the already beautiful land. Lovely monsoon leaves behind little drizzling that drenches the tea gardens which look heavenly in light mist. Popular highlights of  tourist places in Munnar, Kerala are:
Eravikulam National Park
This park is located about 15 km from Munnar and is renowned for its endangered resident – the Nilgiri Tahr. It also houses several other species of rare animals, birds and butterflies. Apart from sheltering the flora and fauna this park is fantastic for trekking.Anamudi Peak
After covering a distance of 13 Km from Munnar, you will reach Anamudi Peak (8,842 ft ) the Highest Indian Mountain that lies South of the Himalayan range. Also, it is the highest mountain of Kerala. Only after obtaining permission from Forest and Wildlife Authorities, one is allowed to trek the peak.The nearest airport to Munnar is Cochin which is 105 Km away and Aluva the nearest railway station.

2) Wayanad
Wayand is the place where nature is at her most beautiful self without any interference from humans. Nearly the entire Wayanad district is bathed by Kabini River. It is one of the three east flowing rivers of Kerala and a chief stream to Kaveri River. Important tourist places of Wayanad, Kerala are Thirunelli Temple, Edakkal Caves and Muthanga wildlife sanctuary, Meenmutty Falls, Pookode lake, Pallikunnu Church and Varambatta Mosque.Nearest Airport and Railway Station to Wayanad is Calicut (109 Kms). By road it can be reached by National Highway 212.

3) Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram, capital of Kerala is a must visit tour destinations in Kerala, as it houses some of the greatest tourist places. Located on west coast of India, it was defined by Mahatma Gandhi as Evergreen city of India. One of the finest beaches of India, Kovalam can be reached by covering a half an hour distance from city.  It lies on shoreline of Killi and Karamana rivers. Backwaters in city lie at Vellayani, Thiruvallam and Aakulam.In Kanyakumari the beautiful site of dawn and dusk can be captured. 4) Kumarakom

5) Thekkady 
If you have special interest in wildlife, then come to Thekkady that is by far the best place in Kerala to observe the wilderness. Variety of animals that one could spot here are lion tailed Macaques, Boars, Deers, and Elephants. Some lucky ones may get a chance to see tigers and leopards roaming in dense forest. Here, you have option to explore forest sitting atop elephants in the great Indian Maharaja style. Periyar National Park, Murikkady, Chellar Kovil and Mangala Devi Temple are the popular highlights of this region.Nearest airport to Thekkady is Cochin that is 190 Kms away and Kottaym is nearest railway station.

6) Cochin 
Popularly known as Gateway to Kerala, Cochin offers many places of interest to tourists. Situated in south-west coast of Indian headland, Cochin (Kochi) is a city of the most beautiful south Indian state Kerala. Adjoined by Western Ghats and Arabian Sea in east and west respectively, this beautiful sea side city is one of the popular tourists’ sites. Top tourist locations in Cochin, kerala are Fort Kochi beach, St. Francis Church, Vasco House, Marine Drive, Hill Palace and Santa Cruz Basilica.It’s outstanding port and international airport links it to major cities across the world.

7) Thrissur
Formerly known as Trichur, Thrissur is the fifth most populous city of Kerala. Located at 290 km from Trivandrum, it is famous for Festival Thrissur Pooram which is considered to be one of the biggest festivals in India.Importance of this place is further increased by presence of several artistic academies that categorizes it as the hub of cultural activities. Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy, Kerala Sahitya Academy, Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple, Vadakkunnatha Temple and Our Lady of Lourdes Metropolitan Cathedral are the famous places one could visit.Nearest airport is Cochin (60km). Besides this the city is well connected by rail and road.

8)  Vagamon 
With a cool climate Vagamon is a hill station of Kerala that is considered to be a  pilgrimage destination. Kurishumala church that is situated on top of hill is a famous pilgrimage to Nazrani Catholics. This place also enjoys a high status from adventure lovers. Beauty here is untouched and truly turns out to be a paradise for visitors.One can reach this place either by railways with nearest railway station being Kottayam (75Km) and Cochin being the nearest airport.

9) Kollam (Quilon)
Quilon (as Portuguese called it) is modern day Kollam which is famous as the land of cashews. As it lies on the Shore of Ashtamudi Lake, It presents before the visitors a perfect picture of backwaters, hills, culture and religion. One can enjoy boating, rock climbing, and mountain biking as a part of adventure activities this place offers. Famous historical monument Thankasseri lighthouse which was built by Portuguese attracts a lot of visitors. Mata Amritanandamayi Ashram is world famous refuge to the religious travelers.As Kollam is well connected to all major cities by road and rail, reaching here is not a problem. With Trivandrum as nearest airport one can easily come here.

10) Agasthyakoodam
Located 61 km from Trivandrum, Agasthyakoodam (Agastya Malai) is a towering forested peak (1868m) in Western ghats that adjoins forests in the tail end. There are several mythological stories related to this peak. It forms the most varied and unidentified ecological unit in Peninsular India. Main attractions of this region are Aranmula boat race and Varkala beach. Famous flower Neelakurinji can be found here.



TOURIST VISA REQUIREMENTS:
1Passport Requirements: Original, signed passport valid for 6 months from day of application, and with at least two blank visa pages for Indian visa stamps. Amendment pages are not acceptable for visa stamps.
2Indian Visa Application FormOne original India visa application per applicant properly completed on-line, printed and signed; plus one copy. Only on-line Indian visa application forms are accepted. Signature must be original on printed India visa application. Improperly completed India visa application forms may delay the processing of your visa.
3Photo Requirements: Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photographs, in color, front view and with a plain/light background.
Chicago, San Francisco and Washington DC jurisdictions: no glasses may be worn in these photos; photos should not be stapled to the application.
4Other Forms: Proof of Residential Address: Clear copy of applicant's driver's license, utility bill or phone bill. Address on the document must match address on the visa application form.
5Minors: A copy of the child's birth certificate and a copy of both parents' signed passports must be submitted. The visa application must be signed by both parents. A copy of a parent's driver's license or utility bill can be used for proof of residential address in the US.
6Other Requirements: Indian visas allow multiple entries into the country, however, there must be a gap of at least 2 months between two visits to the country on a Tourist Visa. No Permit is needed if the visa holder is traveling to multiple countries on the same itinerary and the trip follows the itinerary exactly. The visa holder must carry a copy of the itinerary to show the Immigration Officer. All other applicants seeking permission to enter India multiple times within two months must submit the following:

Letter of Request: A letter addressed to the appropriate Indian Consulate seeking permission and highlighting the urgency of the visit. The letter should also provide a detailed explanation of the reason for visiting more than once within two months, the purpose of journey and the expected dates of travel. The specific purpose of visit must be clearly indicated, for example: for recreation/sight seeing, casual visit to meet friends and relatives/others (to be specified), and not for engagement in business activities, employment or pursuing studies, research, etc.

Re-Entry Exemption Form: Completed and signed by the applicant.

Fee: The Indian Consulate charges an additional fee of $25 with all re-entry requests. This fee is non-refundable even when re-entry permission is not granted.

Please Note: Re-entry permission is granted on only very rare, urgent cases.
7Special Instructions: For Applicants of Indian Origin; Applicants of Indian origin are required to surrender Indian citizenship to apply for an Indian visa.

Applicants who obtained US citizenship prior to June 1st, 2010 must submit:
- Copy of the Naturalization Certificate proving citizenship was obtained prior to June 1st, 2010.
- Canceled Indian Passport.

  • If the applicant does not have the Indian passport, a police report showing that the passport was lost or stolen may be submitted.




  • If the applicant does not have a canceled stamp in the Indian passport:
    - Fee of $25.00 (this fee is in addition to the total payment on your Travisa order form).
    - 2 original completed Renunciation Forms.

    Applicants who obtained US citizenship on or after June 1st, 2010 must submit: Proof they have surrendered Indian citizenship in the form of Certificate of Renunciation or previous Indian Passport containing stamp specifying renunciation.




  • If the applicant who acquired US citizenship after June 1st, 2010 can not provide proof that citizenship has been surrendered, the following is required:
    - 2 original completed Renunciation Forms.
    - Renunciation fee of $180 (this fee is in addition to the total payment on your Travisa order form).
    - Copy of the Naturalization Certificate.
    - Actual Indian Passport.




  • If the applicant does not have the Indian passport, the following in addition to all items listed above is required:
    - An Affidavit of Loss.
    - A copy of birth certificate or school leaving certificate.

    Applicants of Indian origin within San Francisco jurisdiction in all cases must submit: Proof of lawful entry into the United States. This proof can be submitted in one of the following ways:
    - If submitting original Indian passport used on first lawful entry into the US, copy of entry stamps showing the visa category granted (ARC stamps are not acceptable) OR
    - A copy of Employment Authorization Card OR
    - Original I-130 petition and supporting documents including approval notices provided at the time of obtaining visa status.

    Applicants of Indian origin within Houston jurisdiction in all cases must submit: Copy of the Naturalization Certificate.

    India Visa Validity: Visas are usually valid for multiple entries for a period of 6 months or 5 years based on consular fee paid. 10 year visas are issued at the discretion of the Indian Consulate. Multiple entry visas allow re-entry to India only after a period of two months between visits. Important: Travelers must leave India on or before the expiration of their visa. Travelers who remain in India beyond the validity of their visa could face detention and significant penalties. If your intended length of stay in India exceeds the validity of your existing visa, you must apply for a new visa. If re-entry permission is granted, travelers intending to return to India for a second visit within two months must register at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival in India.

    In order to ensure that visa applications for most embassies/consulates are submitted on the day that we receive them, they should be shipped to us via FedEx Priority Overnight (not First Overnight or Standard Overnight).
